The samurai tattoo has become one of Japan’s biggest tattoo exports! In the west its popularity is only behind that of the Japanese dragon and Japanese writing.
The samurai were military nobility of medieval and early-modern Japan. The samurai followed a set of rules which came to be known as Bushido, their teachings can still be found today in Japanese martial arts.
Today the samurai tattoo is used to mean many things, these include courage, bravery and respect!
