Quotes can serve so many different purposes in life. They can be uplifting and inspirational. They can serve as motivation to get you through a tough time or situation. Whatever the circumstance may be, quotes, in my opinion serve more purpose in life than we sometime give them credit for.
They don’t always have to be something that was said by a famous person. It could be a phrase that your great grandpa told you when you were young or something that you heard from passing by a stranger on the street. There may be some people that are inspired by the same things as you. There may be others that are completely pulled in different directions with what inspires them. It doesn’t make them any more weird, different or strange.
Tattoo Quotes Placement/Directions
Every person on this planet is different and that’s what makes us so beautiful. Being able to ink ourselves with words that mean so much and have helped us through difficult times in our lives only adds to the beauty. When looking for placement of quotes, honestly, they can go just about anywhere. I’ve always been a fan of words that have some sort of unique writing. It needs to be legible, but of course interesting. Something that sets you and your quote out from among the masses.
In this article I’m going to try and give some of my favorite quotes of all time. After reading them it might help you go in a direction that you’re looking for. One of these quotes might just inspire you as all of them have to me.
Tattoo Quotes Ideas
My number one all time favorite, and I have it tattooed on myself, is from the movie Rocky: “It ain’t about how are you hit. It’s about how are you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward.” This quote resonated with me on so many levels and when I think I’m having a hard time in life I just look down at my arm and get reminded to keep pushing forward.
Number two is from John Lennon: “When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘Happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment and I told them they didn’t understand life.” I also love this one. That is truly the end goal in life, to just be happy. We let so much else get in the way of what makes us happy that we end up miserable and hating everything and everyone.
Number three rings in from the greatest, Michael Jordan: “I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” I can’t even count the times that I’ve read this quote. It seems we mess up everyday in life and it’s nice to know that, arguably, the greatest NBA player of all time has screwed up just as much. After all, we’re just humans.
Number four comes from Robert Frost: “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.” I like this quote because when the norm seems to be going right always go left. Carve a new path in life. Make your own way and show the world that you aren’t a sheep.
These are just four of my favorites and hopefully some words of wisdom to go with each one.
